‘GO TO’ Interior Design Shops in the North West

News

Interior design shops in the North West in this blog cover a range of finishes but not all. I will return to this topic in a further blog. The recommendations will get you started on the right track when changing your interior, buying a new home or renovating an existing home. Time and again I return to these  'go to' shops when I am looking for interior design products. I love having expert help & advise on hand when I need it and with these retailers this is all part of their service. Once you have your ideas for your interior sometimes practical help is what is needed and it is on hand…….

TILES & SANITARY WARE

Tiles and sanitary ware can be a mine field and very overwhelming when you go to look at all the ranges.

  1. Tubs n Tiles, Sligo have great ranges. I know the Sligo Branch well with helpful staff and constantly changing displays which is always great for ideas. There have branches nationwide including Athlone, Dublin, Galway. tubstiles.ie
  2. Crean Mosaics, Sligo have a very smart range of tiles and sanitary ware. I recommend looking at the displays to get ideas for your bathroom/wet room/ en suite! Castlebar, Charlestown and Sligo all have branches. creansceramiccity.com

PAINT & WALLPAPER 

Paint and wallpaper is always a FAVOURITE topic. Paint is one finishes that can transform an area quickly, giving it a fresh look at a reasonable cost. In Sligo and Leitrim we are fortunate to have great 'go to' shops where the staff can advise on finishes for specific projects

  1. Decorplan, Sligo have a huge display of paint and wallpapers and are experienced to advise on all aspects of finishes. Hand Painted furniture items are often on display showing the effect of the new chalk paints. albany.ie

  3. BMG Bundoran, Co. Donegal

Conscious of buying Irish made products? Colourtrend is an Irish brand of paint stocked in Decorplan and Homeland, Sligo. Colourtrend have great colours that suit many situations such as Tumbled Marble for a great neutral and Whale Bone for a deeper grey/beige! Love these 'go to' colours! colourtrend.ie

In Sligo and surrounding counties we are fortunate to have quality shops offering a various ranges of curtain fabrics and blinds. Blinds come in all sorts of styles – roller, vertical, venetian, roman and honeycomb blinds. These are all available in the north west. Complete the job by engaging the experts to do the fitting!

Curtain fabrics and readymade curtains are another product in which there are wide varieties from which to choose, it is all about the texture! Silk, cotton, linen, velvet, chenille, satin effect, polyester – all the qualities to suit all situations, style and taste. I love using the natural textures where possible for that extra tactile finish.

  1. McDermotts, Castlebar, Co. Mayo have furniture displays to inspire you! Here you will get ideas when looking for furniture whether dining, sitting, living or bedroom. Their new displays are just being completed and set off their furniture with a touch of class! mcdermotts.ie

I do want to mention floor coverings, carpets, lighting and mood  effect lighting. Another exciting area to work with is the kitchen, we have super kitchen centres & skilled craftsmen to consider when looking for a kitchen. This will be for another day in another blog post.
